"What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger"

Q. What ignited the spark in you to start the business? How did the idea for your business come about ?
A. This business was started by my father back in 1992. I joined him a couple of years back after working for three years in the corporate world where I got the opportunity to learn all about business development.

Q. What is the best advice you ever got ? From whom?
A. The best advice I ever got was from my mentor at VHV Beverages that the most invaluable resource available to us is the human resource. We should learn how to channelize it well and it will reap great rewards for all.

Q. "Great leaders are also great speakers” Do you agree ? How did your personality development classes help you in your business ?
A. Not all great leaders are great speakers and not all good speakers can become good leaders. Our personality development classes taught us to be charismatic. To be the force that demands attention.

Q. What are the key elements to starting and running a successful business ?
A. Understand your product. Understand your market. Knowledge is the key.

Q. Marketing is the most important aspect of a business. How do you market your business ?
A. Every business requires different kind of tools of marketing. Our business is such that it demands physical approach more than virtual. So our sales team needs to be on its toes and be constantly on the field. Rest is taken care of by different marketing websites that we have tie-ups with.

Q. If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out what would it be ?
A. Spend time and analyze. Not just the potential of the business you are deciding upon but analyze yourself too. The business you chose should fulfil your true potential.

Q. What motivates you ?
A. Success motivates me and failures teach me what not to do in order to succeed the next time.

Q. What makes you happy ?
A. A lot of things make me happy. Depends on what I am feeling at any given moment. Good health, family & friends are just a part of it all.

Q. What sacrifices have you had to make to become a successful entrepreneur ?
A. The only sacrifice I made was when I gave up on an offer from Fedex USA (which I don’t regret) rest is part and parcel of the package. You spend more time in your office than anywhere else in the beginning and that’s the demand of time. It becomes smoother over time but only if you have chosen the right business venture.

Q. What is the secret to your daily productivity ?
A. Good health. Setting up agendas based on priority and an efficient team.

Q. Which other company apart from yours do you admire the most ?
A. There are more than one actually. Google, Pfizer and Tata
